Synopsis: Mickey Barnes is an "Expendable" – a disposable employee on a human expedition to colonize the ice world of Niflheim. If there's a mission too dangerous, the crew uses Mickey, knowing that if he dies, a new body is "printed" with most of his memories intact. However, after his 17th death, Mickey 17 discovers that a new clone, Mickey 18, has already been printed, leading to a perilous situation where two versions of himself now exist and must remain a secret to avoid being discarded. This darkly humorous sci-fi film explores themes of identity, immortality, and the ethics of human replication.
